"Madagascar on the brain!"

Naomi has "Madagascar on the brain!"
(quote from Melman, the giraffe, in the movie)
Here she is performing all the favorite parts:
Moto Moto, Alex and the theme song
(I like to move it)!

...and yes, she's singing the lines of Moto Moto's hippo song which says "I like 'em big, I like 'em chunky!"

Lil Sis or Lil Doll?

A Dolly and her bunny!
Just hangin' out.

Olivia looks so sweet in her "Little Sister" outfit sent by Aunt Elaine and Uncle John. Thanks so much for the fun gift!

Getting sleepy...
Love my fist!

Whoo-Haaa

Naomi's favorite movie for the past few weeks has been Madagascar 2. She will watch it anytime and will even ask to see it twice, if we'd let her!

Her favorite part is when Alex the Lion does his little routine of waving his paw above his head saying "Whooo" and then lowering his paw below his chin saying "Haaaaa." It's part of a dance and drama act he does for the people at the zoo. He changes his face expression while waving his paws up and down. Naomi loves this part so much that she actually refers to the movie itself as the "Whoo-Haaa Movie!"

Here is her rendition of Alex's act:

Whooo...

Haaaa...

Her other favorite part is the large hippo, MotoMoto, and his "serenade" to Gloria. I'll post a video of her singing it later in her deep hippo voice!

First Bath - 15 Days Old

Livi's cord stub finally fell off at exactly 2 weeks! The next day we gave her a first real bath!

We had too many helpers for such a short bath time because everyone wanted to have a turn with the washcloth.

Luckily, she'll be needing a lot more baths over the next year so that all my helpers will be able to get enough turns with the washcloth!

Olivia is so blessed to have such wonderful, loving sisters to take care of her!

Tori On Stage

Tori had her first debut in a hip-hop performance to the Cheetah-Girls at her performance last week with the local dance studio. She did so awesome, especially considering it to be her first experience with any kind of dance lessons and she joined the class late in the season!

She loved dressing up in her bright orange top with sequins and matching silver stretch pants. Of course, the glittery belt and silver armbands just made the outfit complete! She really felt like a "diva" and gladly posed for the camera and for passing cars and for her sisters and for anyone else who she thought might be watching.

I'm just thankful that she hasn't asked to wear the outfit out but instead has agreed to use it as dress-up, unlike some of her fellow dance-classmates. I overheard a few other moms at the dance studio talking about how they have allowed their daughters to wear the outfit (or parts of it) to school. I can not believe that people would agree to a first-grader's request to use this outfit as their school attire!

One mom told her daughter that the problem with wearing it to school was that the orange top is sleeveless and "the school likes to have the kids wear shirts with sleeves. But you can wear it with a shirt underneath, if you want." And that is her only issue with the outfit being used asher daughter's regular clothes?! Then the other mom said, "But not with the dance shoes right?" When the first mom responded with, "Oh, no. Definitely not with the dance shoes; they're not appropriate. She'll have to wear her sandals or something else."

Eight is GREAT!

Tori had so much fun making her own birthday cake. Eight means independence and new discovery for Tori. She wanted to make her own cake this year. It had to be cupcakes, not a cake. She also insisted that they be arranged into the shape of something. After thinking for a moment about what shape she could possibly create, she came up with a logical choice: a cupcake. Yes, it's a big cupcake made of, well, cupcakes! What else?! She helped bake them, ice them, did the decorating plans and most of the sprinkling too.

She let her sisters help a little too. They were all so proud of the finished product although the icing seems to be the favorite part for all of them.

Afterward, the girls enjoyed playing with the huge swappable polly pocket collection Tori got from all of us. They are the coolest Pollies yet! You can pop off their heads and swap them with different upper bodies and leg combinations. The best part is that no parents are required to play, unlike the older ones. With the old set, even adults could not adequately cram Polly into her fashionable yet puny plaid pants and matching tiny tops!

13 Days Old

Olivia loves her bouncer seat. We have one for upstairs and one for downstairs.

This is one of Naomi's favorite things to do; entertain her sister in the bouncy seat and play with all the buttons and toys.

It is really this shocking to have a two-year-old with her hand on you 24/7!

I think just really excited that everyone is making silly noises to get her to look at the camera! Haha!

8 Days Old

6 Days Old

Ice Cream Party for Naomi and Sydni while the older 2 are at sleepovers!

Our Stars

Tori was proud to show off her new dance costume for her first dance recital.
She took a hip-hop, jazz style class where she danced to a Cheetah Girls song for her routine.

On picture night she was so excited to put on her costume and perform for the parents at the studio.

She loved putting on real makeup and felt like a star, posing for cars passing by, each time she left the car!

Sydni and Kayli take gymnastics at the same time as Tori takes her dance class.

Syd decided to stamp her face with the "hand stamps" they are given at the end of class this night!

Olivia Claire

Olivia means Peace and Claire means Bright
So far she has held up to both descriptions!

Livi is a great sleeper and will even settle down for 4-5 hour stretches at night.

Her cries are seldom and she loves diaper changes.

From the day she was born, Olivia stays awake during the day for long periods especially when someone is talking to her.

Going Home - April 27

Livi is ready to go home!
Daddy and the girls decorated the car for Mommy!
