Happy and You Know It?

Olivia loves this song and she just didn't want to stop singing it when it was over.

Kindergarten Concert

Sydni was so excited to have us come to see her perform at the Spring Concert. She practiced her songs daily for us with great enthusiasm adding her own personal character elements. She made us promise that we'd all come...not just one parent, we BOTH had to be there!

I thought we were in for quite a performance from our already hammy lady. She adores the spotlight here at home and was really playing the part even up until the night of the concert. She went to change into her favorite dress (of the week), with fancy shoes and all. I was cleaning up the kitchen while she prepared and caught a glimpse of her acting out her concert songs in front of the bathroom mirror while she brushed her hair, which much enthusiasm and facial expression! I really was wondering what was in store for the evening.

And then we went to the concert...

Syd is Six!

Sydni Hope

Happy Birthday to Sydni who turned 6 last week!

Do you think Livi likes the cake and ice cream much?

Olivia 10mo

Olivia Claire - 10 months
Livi likes to wink at us. She learned "eyes" the last few weeks and like to blink her eyes when we say it or whenever the camera is out. So now, most of the pictures show her blinking!

Some of her other accomplishments include; climbing up the stairs, pushing her walker quickly across the floor, opening and emptying kitchen cupboards, rolling a ball and "catching" it, eating more food at dinner than her sisters, puckering her lips and leaning in for kisses, and sprouting almost 6 teeth (4 on top, 2 on bottom)!

She loves books, especially about animals and loves to make their sounds like "Mooo, Meow, for dog, for horse." She also loves balloons on strings and has said "balloon" this week and "Up!" She also loves, loves music especially Daddy's drums which she'll insist on hitting right along with him!

C-c-circle!

Naomi is learning her shapes at her preschool class. She likes to practice at home, especially during lunchtime. This week she asked me, "Mommy, what shape is my plate?" I replied, "Hmm, it's a square right?" Naomi shaking her head, "Nope, try again! It's a ss-ss--rr---" And I jumped in "A Circle!" Naomi beamed, "That's right! Now what shape is the sun?" I reply, "It's a circle, just like your plate." And she says "Yes! A circle....just like January!" And then she traced her plate with her finger while singing something about January.

Famous Quotes

My Naomers is growing up and I don't want to let go of two. I love the dirt-stained knees on her pants, her mounds of blankets warming her sleeping baby-dolls and her careful, cautious little fingers painting a rainbow-colored tiger with watercolors. But I still have time....there are 24 hours until tomorrow!

1/12/10
"Mommy, can we watch that movie? Ya know, Charlie and the Chair Fairy?" Mommy says, "Which one is that?" She replies, "You know! The one with all the pretty things and the boys and girls...." Gramma translated through the phone, remembering Naomi's newest favorite, "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory!"

"Please pass the Branch!!" ~Naomi asking for Ranch Dressing at dinnertime

And one from Sydni: When we were making those awesome Fiber One Blueberry Muffins, from the box recipe, Syd was helping out and as we dumped the mix into the bowl she exclaimed, "YES! I love the fake ones!" I guess she was not too fond of the made-from-scratch blueberry muffins I did last time! I love her honesty and realness, I think we all need some of that!

When I Grow Up

Naomi ~nearly 3~ and her conversations with Mommy about when she grows up:

Naomi: When I am a cat, I will be black, with mean eyes like this (her eyebrows narrowing) and I will have sharp teeth and I will bite you!

Mommy: What do you mean "when you are a cat"? People grow into bigger people, not cats!

Naomi: But I'm going to be a cat like Molly when I grow up!

Mommy: Well, I hope you won't be a mean cat. I'm not going to be mean to you, so will you still bite me?

Naomi: When I am a cat, I will bite you!

(Mommy figures that must be just what you have to do when you're a cat.)

...later that day...

Naomi: I am growing bigger, bigger, bigger. When I'm a dinosaur, I will have sharp teeth like this (pulling down her gums to show her sharp teeth)....and mean eyes like this (narrowing her eyebrows and glaring) and I'll ROOOOAARR (her claws in the attack position)!

Mommy: Ahh! That's scary!....But I thought you were going to be a cat?!

Naomi: (pausing and puzzling over how to do both...and deciding most certainly) I'm going to be a dinosaur.
